Comments on: Ear throbbing: anyone else felt this?

I’m experiencing the same thing. I started using in-ear headphones for the first time a few months ago and the past few weeks I’ve noticed throbbing/pulsating in both my ears at random times. I’m going to switch back to my old style of headphones – athletic headphones that wrap around the ear, but do not go into the ear – and see if this makes a difference. If I remember to, I’ll let you know if anything changes.

Got it right now, which is why I came looking online. I’ve had a past history of vertigo (had a four month stint once, all sorts of testing that came back normal, apparently was a “virus” and was told I could do nothing but wait for it to disappear…) and I guess I have been using ear buds to jog but I have been a musician my whole life in loud clubs, so if I would have had sound volume damage it would have happened before now. I’m wondering if it’s the same as getting a twitch any one of your muscles… but I find it suspect that I’ve had inner ear/vertigo troubles in the past.

Do not despair. Around two months I started using in-ear buds and I felt a weir heartbeat-like sound in my left ear. I began to despair afraid that I could be a tumor. after I gathered the courage to tell my parents so that I could go to the doctor my mom gave me some anti bacteria ear-drops in my ear. the next day the heartbeat stopped.

I realized that it was a mild ear infection cause by the in-ear headbuds/headphones that I shoved in my ear. after I used those headphones I used to leave them literary (usually the floor, dust filled tables) anywhere and it gathered a lot of bacteria that the next day I put on my ears.

so stop using inear headphones and use the regular headphones that does go deep in your ears.

dahm,,, im happy i found this,,, i have the same thing but it only does it when i put the in-ear phones in with volume,, its kind of scary,,, what is this

I’m having this same feeling right now. Very wierd. Doesn’t hurt, just throbs. I too just started using in ear headphones as well. I love them and don’t want to give them up.

This weird ear throbbing thing has been getting more consistent and more frequent. It’s a really weird throbbing sensation of fullness in my ear (only right ear). I’m hoping the VRT can help with this as well.

The only time i’ve ever felt that ear “throb” is after a good workout or a very loud concert.
